MK95 MOD1

This is a MIL-SPEC product, available from the Security Products Division of STS.

The MK95 MOD 1 Machine Gun Mount is used to mount two .50 Caliber M2HB Machine Guns, resulting in a weapon system firing rate of about 1,000 rounds per minute, or two GAU-16 Machine Guns resulting in a weapon system firing rate of about 1600 rounds per minute.

When installed, each weapon is “soft-mounted” via a shock absorber to reduce transmitted weapon recoil and increase gunner controllability and hit probability. The mount has an ammunition capacity of 500 rounds (250 rounds per weapon).

The MK95 MOD 1 mount is usually shipboard mounted via a deck-mounted tripod and MK16 MOD 9 stand assembly. However, the mount can be adapted to any boat or vehicle that uses a MK16 MOD 9 stand. If desired, the mount can also be provisioned with an armament shield assembly and or M.A.S.S.
