The patented STS Ballistic Weapon Stand™ (BWS) is custom designed as a cost-effective and direct bolt-on replacement for existing MK16 and other type stands which do not provide ballistic protection. The BWS offers unparalleled safety for an operator while performing as a stand-alone gun mount in any fighting position or ECP (Entry Control Point). The BWS increases an operators accuracy by providing confidence and an extremely stable platform even when freestanding.
The BWS interfaces with all military crew served weapon mounts and has a unique bolt pattern to easily replace MK16 tripod systems regardless of original installation direction. The BWS is designed to give an operator NIJ Level 4 / UL Level 8 protection by replacing Kevlar, sandbag, concrete, and water-filled emplacements with true ballistic protection for personal security at vital assets, entry control points, and for sentry and guard positions. It is also designed to withstand foul weather or heavy seas without the need to stow during transit.
The BWS is CAD designed, CNC laser cut, protected by a NAVSEA approved Fluidized Bed powder coat process, and constructed of 3/8” AR500 (Abrasion Resistance) ‘Armor Plate’ steel. The BWS is certified by HP White Laboratories to withstand repeated hits from virtually any shotgun, handgun, or rifle to include all 5.56mm and 7.62 armor piercing ammunition. The BWS has also successfully defeated one round of .50 caliber steel core ball M33 ammunition fired from a M2HB Browning Machine Gun at 100 meters.

By utilizing a 20º deflection angle and "clean face" design, the BWS ensures maximum safety for security personnel by safely directing fragmentation down and away from the protected Sentry's position. This angle also reduces the Radar signature of the BWS when used aboard ship.
The design of the BWS is fully compatible with our Modular Armored Security Shield™ (MASS) as well as our C-Through Shield™ (CTS) for virtually unlimited configurations. In addition, the Interlocking Tab Construction (ITC) design of the BWS allows for a precise fit and eliminates the need for welds on critical armor plate, which prevents any change in the steels temper therefore maintaining true ballistic integrity. BWS assembly is easily completed with two personnel and a single wrench.
The BWS can be customized to customer specifications and can be furnished with custom shelves to accommodate weapons mounts, clearing barrels, or ammunition holders for an additional cost.
